Combining leading institutions Fano Russia in biochemistry, microbiology and bioengineering has entered the final stage. On this basis, the Federal Research Center "Fundamentals of Biotechnology" RAS. The new structure was registered in the Ministry of Justice. Structural reforms have allowed the scientific center of the park significantly upgrade equipment and expand the project portfolio.
Federal Research Center "Fundamentals of Biotechnology" was established on the basis of Institute of Biochemistry. AN Bach Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Microbiology. SN Vinogradski Academy of Sciences and the Center "Bioengineering". As participants of the integration project, combining three organizations opens new perspectives for the development of high-quality research and development in biotechnology, medicine, agriculture and food industry.
To implement the new activities of scientific organizations Federal Agency has allocated additional funds to the project participants to update the equipment base, including spectral methods of research of biotechnology products including system for electron microscopic analysis.
An updated research infrastructure will reinforce FIZ work on promising areas of biotechnology. At the moment, the center is launching several new projects. In particular, work began on the development of the line of biodegradable materials and food for strategic Russian industries. The project is implemented in cooperation with the company "PT Himkompozit", part of the state corporation "Rostec."
FIZ specialists "Fundamentals of Biotechnology," developed a project roadmap and research programs in "Bioelectronics" Foundation for Advanced Studies. Also, with the assistance of FIZ program was prepared and road map of biodegradable plastics in the framework of the technological platform "BioTeh2030."
In addition to the substantial expansion of the portfolio, the united structure there are also new opportunities for the development of human resources. In 2016, the center expects to take to graduate 16 people. This is a third more than in 2015.
