The event was attended by Chairman of the Committee on industrial policy and innovation St. Petersburg Meyksin Maxim, head of cluster development and the Technopark of St. Petersburg, as well as representatives of more than 20 urban clusters.
Maxim Meyksin noted that the Government of St. Petersburg is actively supporting the development of cluster initiatives, including support for urban clusters are working to attract federal funding.
In July, the Ministry of Economic Development approved the request of St. Petersburg to support small and medium enterprises that are members of the urban clusters. Federal funds will be spent on training programs for companies in the cluster, and for support in entering new markets - regional and international.
Presented at the event cluster portrait of St. Petersburg - a result of the first stage of monitoring urban cluster environment. The work identified 37 cluster initiatives. In addition to the widely known active clusters, there were initiatives such as jewelry cluster, art cluster, cluster-friendly technologies for the urban environment, and others.
Experts of the Center conducted a survey of cluster development and personal meetings with representatives of each of the identified clusters. Estimated entry of new participants in these projects, policy documents, cooperation with universities and research institutes, joint initiatives and other measures. The results allowed the group stages of the development of clusters and to identify the most active or backward, as well as to provide the necessary support measures for cluster and its management company.
